An Adult Discussion with Ninja Theory
Not to sound graphic, but Christian Nutt of Gamasutra is pretty good at picking brains. This time he’s picked that of Ninja Theory’s chief creative officer Tameem Antoniade, who is deeply involved in the development of DmC. Within this lengthy interview, they discuss the challenges and advantages of working on triple-A and established IPs, the role of narrative in games, and the influence of filmmaking on games development, among other things.
At the heart of this interview is an acknowledgement of games’ rapid maturation as a medium. It’s good to see devs thinking progressively, and extra-good to see major publishers trusting solid IPs (and money) to these devs.
